Now, the News!
The boardroom has decided to give a F-Register-Encore! This means, the website and the database will be accessible beyond Dec, 31st! Matthias Urban, Chief Editor and owner of the company that owns and operates F-Register said that there have been various reasons for the prolongation that is scheduled until April 30th, 2019.
First, Matthias said, there was a strong popular request to continue and for me, it looks more accurate to finish this good thing after eight years and not after 7 and three quarters. Furthermore, he indicated that there are still discussions about how to proceed with the database. “I do not want to interfere any process that would lead to a good solution by persisting on a date. We are currently discussing, if there will be a final printed edition of the “Ferrari Serial Number Manual”, a complete new edition containing the original book, the Supplements that cover 2008 to 2012 and anything that has been added to F-Register’s database ever since. We have to accept that there is a market for printed products, probably a stronger one than for the online database, which I still prefer as it offers so much more options than a book. We are in negotiations about the complete selling of F-Register as well. However, if none of the options will be practicable, F-Register will definitely close as per April 30th”.
The conversation with Matthias continued with the question if there would be a chance to continue F-Register. With a smile, he replied that he sure would consider continuation. “Let another 1,000 people subscribe to F-Register and we are talking about completely changed conditions”, he said. “I will be doing this for more than 25 years next year and I want to celebrate this by having F-Register online at least as long as the big three events in Europe, Maastricht, Paris and Essen, have been covered by us. I know what Subscribers get, when they subscribe and I still believe that it is absolutely worth it and that F-Register really deserves closer attention”.
What happens to people that are actually subscribed to F-Register?
Every subscription entered, lasts a complete year. All subscriptions entered between January, 1st to April, 30th 2018 will run until April 30th, 2019. All subscriptions entered after April, 30th 2018 will run out on April 30th, 2019.
What happens to people that are actually registered to F-Register?
All free registrations will last until April 30th, 2019.
From today's point of view, access to F-Register will not be available as per May, 1st 2019.
