Peter Auto today provides events over Europe like Tour Auto, Le Mans Classic and Spa Classic amongst others. The competitors; Ferrari wise; are more or less the same year by year, some of the follow the rise in value and are subject of private sales, dealer trades and auctions, like SWB #1953GT that was offered by RM Sothebys at Villa Erba the same day.
However, 13 Prancing Horses took up the challenge to compete with other brands on one of the most beautiful race tracks in the world.
The Daytonas 13219 and 16935 competed in Class CER 1. 16935 was new to the field. We spotted the car in spring of 2007 already in Düsseldorf’s Meilenwerk when it still was Swiss registered. 13219 of Tim Summers finished 21st and 1st IC GTS22, 16935 came in as 27th.
Class CER 2 is dominated by Lolas and Porsches. Christian Bouriez entered one of the BBLMs, #35525, a Series 3 car, the other, #31159 did not show up. The car was present at last year’s OGP.
More than 50% of the participants in Trofeo Nastro Rosso are represented by Ferraris. The 17 cars of the starting field had the comfortable challenge of two races. The “Breadvan”, fresh from the paint shop, was the sensation for spectators and the speaker. Vincent Gaye (275 GTB), Jan Gijzen (275 GTB) and Lukas Halusa/Martin Halusa (Breadvan) achieved positions 1 to 3 in Race 1. Gaye and Gijzen repeated their success in Race 2.
There was a rumour that Monteverde’s LM, #6313 was entered again, but that was obviously just a rumour.
